I generally don't take pleasure in hating something, but there are exceptions, and the university of kansas is one of them.
For example, I was happier that kansas lost to North Dakota State, a division 2 school, than Mizzou beating Illinois, the first week of football this fall. My grandpa played football at Mizzou in the 1950s but was recruited by kansas as well. Even after a ku coach had dinner with his family in their home, he chose Mizzou. A couple years later there was a sideline clearing fight between the two teams and the same coach that ate dinner with his parents, decked him in the face. He has a real hatred toward the school.
Anyway, a few years ago I took a video of the Mizzou student section chanting, "M-I-Z FU*%-k-u. Almost 60,000 views and 500+ comments later, it has become a relatively popular YouTube video without any effort on my part.
But a funny thing happens when a video gets popular. YouTube asks to share advertising revenue with you by placing ads at the end of the video. So I agree and now I get paid if someone clicks the advertisement at the end of the clip. All of the sudden, I realize the ku MBA program is the dominant advertisement shown at the end of my video.
But Taylor, why would you want to advertise for the enemy? Well first, the irony of their Masters of Business program advertising on something that says "Fu%& ku" brings a substantial smile to my face.
Second, every time someone clicks on that advertisement, the ku MBA program is paying me, Taylor, an MBA student from Mizzou. It makes me smile every time I think about it.
Below is a picture of the video after it finished with ku's ad. Further down is the video itself. Enjoy.

Even better, now the KU MBA program is advertising at the bottom of this page.
ReplyDeleteSuch a hater, such hater! I hope your hate bleeds over into flight training and your call sign becomes "Jayhawk." That would be some sweet justice for me!
